With the start of the second semester upon us, it’s time to start thinking about summer.  Seems like a great idea with the chilly February temps and snow abounding, right?  Summer means warm weather, days at the pool, a reprieve from school and senior portrait sessions.  If you’re a current junior in the central Wisconsin area, I am talking to you.  If you’re the parent of a junior, this is for you too.  With summer quickly approaching, I am now accepting applications for my Senior Ambassador program.  To be considered for this fun program, please email me at heather@heathervoigt.com for an application.

What makes a great Senior Ambassador?  YOU! I am looking for fun, outgoing, laid-back faces to represent my brand.  What do you have to do?  Be yourself, tell your friends and anyone else who is your age all about the awesome session you had with me.  Yeah, that’s right, you get a complimentary session just to see what a great experience it is.  Oh and you get to save a little on your prints and products too AND can earn cash for every session that you send my way.  Sounds great, right? Right!!  I can’t wait to design your dream shoot and get to know you!

In late September, Nick emailed me to ask if I’d consider photographing his proposal. I, of course, said, “absolutely, I’d love to!”, and we began the planning process. Which was really Nick and Emily’s boss, Adam, planning and me sitting waiting excitedly. Emily believed she was headed to Rib Mountain to film a promo spot for the news that morning and that Nick was at work across town. Prior to her arrival atop Rib Mountain State Park, Nick precariously climbed down below the amphitheater to hide in the rocks. Emily’s friend Holly was along to keep Nick company below and I was staged in the amphitheater posing as a photographer taking photos of the fall foliage. Emily and Adam arrived, and Adam asked her to talk about when she “fell in love” with journalism. The theme of their promo clearly was falling in love…..perfect for what was about to happen. Completely focused on her promo, Emily never heard Nick climb over the wall of the amphitheater or dance behind her for the camera. She also didn’t notice that I had turned my camera in her direction and was about to photograph one of the most special moments of their life. Her words, “I just thought you were a wedding photographer scouting the location for a wedding this weekend.”; she is right on the wedding photographer part and was totally surprised by Nick’s proposal. Congratulations ton an incredibly in-love couple. I wish them both the absolute best as they embark on wedding planning and creating a lifetime of memories together!
